Brian Sassi Joins United Allergy Services Board of Directors

Sassi has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, including senior leadership positions with Blue Cross of California, Anthem BC Life & Health Insurance Company and Wellpoint, Inc. Most recently, Sassi was the president and CEO of the Consumer Division at Wellpoint, Inc.

During his 14 years with Wellpoint, Inc., Sassi achieved significant success in regional and international roles. While CEO of the Consumer Division at Wellpoint, Inc., he and his executive team doubled the operating gain, refreshed the company's corporate strategy to focus on long-term growth prospects and consolidated disparate marketing organizations into a single division. During his tenure as CEO of Blue Cross of California, Sassi successfully managed the company through significant organizational change and restructuring as well as achieved more than $100 million in cost of care savings through various initiatives.

Sassi has served on multiple organizations' boards over the past eight years including the California Chamber of Commerce, Wellpoint Foundation and most recently the Idyllwild Arts Academy in Idyllwild, Calif.

Sassi earned his bachelor's degree from California State University in Los Angeles and was named Alumnus of the Year in 2007. He and his family reside in California.
